APW - Illinois, Washington Watch Co, Greenwich, Grade 710, 23J marked as "23 Diamond Ruby & Sapphire Jewels," Model 10, 16S, white gold-filled OF recase with very attractive engraving detail to rear, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, diamond endstone, checkerboard center pattern nickel damascene, s#3377359. A very rare top grade Illinois watch, the total production of this Model 10 version of the Grade 710 Washington Watch Co. "Greenwich" is believed to be only 70 made.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, plates with some typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches, some pinpoint nicks to balance cock, pallet jewel setting with a scratch, some oxide to regulator spring; dial with fractured segment below seconds-register at 6 that appears to have been secured with glue but is somewhat raised and out of level with plane of remainder of dial, some scattered outer chapter hls elsewhere, small flake at 7:30 near edge, short scratch at upper-right of center section; fine hands with areas of finish loss; case shows little wear, curved semi-circular scratch inside case rear, some nicks to band, engraving detail with mild reduction; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
